FRIDAY NIGHT:

  • Nest #15 Inventory
    • Live Hatchlings – 6 (2 with left front flippers that needed massage treatment.  It helped a little.)
    • Dead Hatchlings – 2
    • Pipped Eggs – 0
    • Unhatched Eggs- 14
    • Hatched Egg Shells – 93
  • Nest #32 Inventory
    • Live Hatchlings – 0
    • Dead Hatchlings – 0
    • Pipped Eggs -1
    • Unhatched Eggs – 24
    • Hatched Egg Shells – 140 (YOU READ THAT RIGHT!)
  • Nest #35 Inventory
    • Live Hatchlings – 6
    • Dead Hatchlings – 2
    • Pipped Eggs – 0
    • Unhatched Eggs- 24
    • Hatched Egg Shells – 93
  • Nest #41 hatched around 8:00 pm with 1 leader and 60 followers. 
  • Nest #13 had 4 more hatchlings last night! It’s a trickler!
  • Nest #37 had a perfect boil with 77 hatchlings at 9:37 pm. All the turtles hurried to the sea with no disorientation.
  • Nest #39 hatched sometime during the night with lots of tracks in the runway!
  • WILD NEST at 607 CBR was called in at 9:10 pm.  Team 9 responded.  Hatchlings were all over the beach.  Very helpful and excited family!!! We were able to bucket 50+ and others made it to the water on their own.  Tracks were running North, South, East and West!  One even made it all the way to Nest #43, several houses away!

SATURDAY MORNING:

  • Nest #14 had 2 tracks in the runway
  • Nest #26 had 1 track in the runway
  • Nest # 29 had 1 track in the runway
  • Nest #40 had one more hatchling 
  • Nest #42 has a divot/indentation
  • Nest #41 had 2 tracks in runway
  • Nest #77 had a crab hole

Gary, Susan, Kathleen and Scott search the area in front of 607 CBR for the Wild Nest.  An area of concentration was seen, but no nest located at this time.  The happy family is going to be on the look-out for any activity in the area!

    • Live Hatchlings – 1

    • Unhatched Eggs- 16
    • Hatched Egg Shells – 119

TO DATE @ Noon:  38 Nests have hatched!  25 Nests have been inventoried with more tonight through Tuesday!

I think that is all for today!  Days are getting hotter and nests are hatching earlier.  Let’s green and sit earlier, too!
