Sunday, July 31

We had 3 false crawls this morning.  1 was obvious, she couldn’t get up the mid-beach escarpment.  The other 2 had apparent human footprints as well as dog prints all around and even on top of the nesting area.  Sadly, these mamas were probably scared off by human curiosity.

Nest #16 had a large crab hole

Nest #18 may have had another hatchling and a large crab hole

Nest #19 had 2 indentions

Nest #24 had 4 more hatchlings emerge last night , 2 at about 10:00 pm and 2 close to midnight.

Happy Note: Nest #13 Inventory this morning:

  • Live Hatchlings-0
  • Dead Hatchlings-1
  • Unhatched Eggs-10
  • Hatched Egg Shells-112
