No nests to report today. There was 1 False Crawl. Mama came out at hide tide, hit vegetation and turned right back to the water. There were a lot of Coyote prints on the east river beach.
Sadly, we had a call about a dead juvenile Kemp’s Ridley at the water’s edge at Ft. Caswell’s beach. It had been hit by a boat propeller. Stats were taken and Morning Patrol buried it on the beach.
YESTERDAY we had a call about a carapace skeleton on the beach in Southport. Strand Response found an interesting puzzle of bones on the beach and some fleshy pieces in the water. We were given permission by the State to recover the bones for educational purposesand buried the remainder on the beach.
