One false crawl this morning. 35” crawl just east of the coast guard station. The sand placement is scheduled to begin Sunday.

Nest #2! We relocated 122 eggs from east of Ocean Greens to east of the Baptist walkway. Her crawl was 39”

No more nests for us yet but there are 9 in the state so far.  Oak Island had their 3rd nest today.   Nest #1 was overwashed Friday and Saturday but just barely.

WE HAVE NEST #1. She had a 37” crawl at the east end by the GPS tower. We relocated 120 eggs away from the high tide line but still at the very eastern end. Also, wanted to let you know that our rescue, Dutchman, is doing great still. She is eating and improving daily.

Nest #58 has hatched and it looked like a good number of hatchlings. Nest #57 was inventoried this morning. This nest started with 51 eggs but was invaded by crabs the first few days and were certain that eggs were taken out by them. Inventory results: 13 shells, 35 unhatched and 2 live hatchlings. Nest #57 this morning. We watched one get in the water but looks like several tracks.

Nest #55 inventory results: 109 shells, 1 unhatched and 1 pipped. We have nests #57 & #58 still incubating but don’t expect anything for several more days. We have called to have the ATV picked up.
