June 22, 2023 – Nest #34 – Happy Summer!

We had one beautiful crawl this morning which led to Nest #34.  It truly was a work of art!  Mama turtle chose to be neighbors with Nest #29.  Sisters perhaps?

Nest #13 had some more crab activity.  We took the wire off to check the tunnels.  Thankfully, none led to the eggs.  We replaced the wire and are hoping they don’t return!  All other nests looked good and secure.

We were saddened by the news at Ocean Isle about the damage done to one  of their nests.  The cage over the top of the nest was stepped on and trash was left all around.  We do pick up a lot of trash some days, but we are thankful most of our beach goers show more respect for our beach and our nests!
