No new nests to report, but we did have a stranded turtle during our Morning Patrol.  Thanks to Kathleen Bowman and Barbara Waite for assisting! Here is the Facebook post.
Meet Aqua Pearl Amanda. She is a Kemp’s Ridley ‘Hybrid’ that was stranded on Caswell Beach this morning. She suffered a boat strike but was also malnourished. Special thanks to our Ambassador, Amanda, who called in for the rescue! We transported her to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. Her injuries are severe. We are thankful for their care and know they will do everything in their power to help her! The KBSTRRC are naming stranded turtles after Crayola Crayon colors at this time, so we chose Aqua Pearl. The KBSTRRC team mentioned Hybrid because she has Kemp’s and Green Turtle characteristics.

**This conservation work for protected sea turtles on Caswell Beach is authorized by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission (ES Permit 22ST03).
