The Mama Turtles led the Morning Patrol on a bit of a journey this morning. Thanks to their persistence, we have Nest #21 in another good location and 1 False Crawl.
Unfortunately, a fox or coyote dug into Nest #12. Sadly, we lost 31 eggs. Last year we did not have a fox or coyote issue on Caswell Beach all season. A cage was added, but it probably wouldn’t have made a difference in this situation as the animal dug in from the left side beyond the stakes.
