Busy Weekend for Sea Turtle Mamas!

Caswell Beach Sea Turtle activity has picked up this weekend!

We have 3 more nests and 1 false crawl to add to our sea turtle nest totals.

The False Crawl was on the river by the navigation tower.  Mama figured out that was NOT a good place!

Nest #15 was laid high and dry on a dune that has had a nest for several years in a row.  Not the same mama each year, but a cool fact!

Nest #16  was laid in front of a huge sloughing dune in a badly eroded area. 127 eggs were relocated to a safer location.

Fortunately, Nest #17 was laid high and dry and did not need relocating!
