Sorry for the delay!
We have 3 new nests and 2 false crawls today.

The first False Crawl was on the river beach at Ft. Caswell.  She literally had no place to lay there!

Nests #64 had to be moved from the north side of the East Point on the river.  104 eggs were relocated to a safer location.

Nest #65 was laid below the high tide line and was moved back to the dunes.  108 eggs were relocated.

The second False Crawl was interesting.  She circled around in 2 different areas, but never dug a nest cavity.

Nest #66 was laid safely and didn’t need any intervention.

Nests #1 & #2  have not shown any evidence of hatching readiness, but who really knows?

**This conservation work for protected sea turtles on Caswell Beach is authorized by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission (ES Permit 22ST03).

A Tern egg was found on Nest #27!
